hey i think i am going to make a quick site where people can post advertizments of things they want to sell/lost and found items. i think i will make it cheap like 50 cents to post something on there and and maybe use a google integrated search to find posted listings. so it is kinda like the yellow pages or something.

thing is i dont know any really server programming languages etc. i hear php is straight forward. would i be able to do it with php? suggestions welcome, places to look for information appreciated, example codes would be great.

Yes PHP can do what you described and it is fairly simple, but you should also look into CMS's or other free online scripts. There may be one out there that does just what you want.

PHP is probably your best bet. So you are making something like ebay?

That is done via PHP.. using template files etc... and it is pretty straight forward for people knowing PHP.

I thing PHP is best choise to do that, because it's easy to learn, you can find thousands tutorials and manuals
