If you had a Microsoft windows forum or something related only to windows, would you care if your forum is rendered correctly on Linux and MAC (safari) browsers? or would you concentrate only on windows based browsers?

But why? If it is a forum for windows users why would a Linux user care about it? (I am just asking lol, I'm not gonna do it, just collecting ideas)

I'd make sure it's fully functioning across all platforms. You never know when someone who's using a non-related machine will be interested in searching your forum. Perhaps they have a Mac and a Windows computer, but their Windows PC has stopped functioning and they'd like to access your forum for tech help. Just one example, but never limit your user base just because you don't think they'd be interested.

Browsers render simularly on different Os's (I mean safary renders on windows close to the way it does on mac)
So, before testing with Os, i'd make shure it renders correctly crossbrowser.

I would worry about whether the forum rendered properly for windows browsers. That can still be quite a headache.

Yes, I would care. Just because I'm currently in Linux doesn't mean I won't visit a Windows forum or vise versa. Like WingedPanther says, your hardest development will be the Windows browser (IE 6 and 7). If you get it working right on those two the rest generally work OK.

Well I wouldn't agree on that. Because I had a homework and I designed it on FF, once opened with IE it came crazed up, so I fixed it on IE but when I opened it with FF again it really got crazed up.
