Default Dreamweaver

Dreamweaver is a great program to use for web design. I've only used it once, but it worked out great. I like programs like Dreamweaver, because you can do a lot of complicated things without having to completely know a language. Of course, you can better control the look of a site if you handcode it, but Dreamweaver-like programs will have to work for me until I learn to code myself.

Ok so you're saying you also use Dreamweaver for layout development or you rather to stick with manual coding in those cases?

I actually do very little manual coding, except for expanding on already built pages. For layout development, I would use Dreamweaver. I actually don't have access to Dreamweaver, so I can't really expand much, but I can build new pages with the same layout just by copying the code and just adding and changing some stuff.

I wouldn't recommend using Dreamweaver for layouts though. I mean visually, you can still create them using plain code. But the problem with creating layouts on dreamweaver by manually entering fields, tables, menus, graphics, etc.. it will fail to validate your page and also it will not look good on all browsers. Positioning and small things like that will not work out for every browser.

I've never used Dreamweaver, but my friend showed me a web page he made using Dreamweaver, and it looked really messed up on my computer, but he said it looked fine on his. That's why in the end, it's always better to hand code.

Previous versions of dreamweaver used to introduce all sorts of buggy code to pages, version 8 however is much improved and makes putting layouts etc together very simple and easy.
Code it produces now is just as good as doing it by hand, wouldnt use anything else at moment

I've used dreamweaver and version 8 is great. Although since I often code aswell you can use the double view so you can see your page in a visual sence as well as looking at the code. You can also learn a few shortcut's by using dreamweaver because they tend to try to use the most efficient coding.

When I used Frontpage, the code was all messed up. I think Frontpage sucks, if you use Frontpage but can use Dreamweaver, then that's a bad decision.
