Since we are talking about site design here, I figured I would post a list of template sites I have used for sites in the past. Some of these you have to buy the templates BUT it is usually a lot cheaper and less time consuming then spending the hours and hours building a site.
The key I have found is to find a template you like and then COMPLETELY customize it with different colors, images, etc. Then no one will ever realize you used a template. PLEASE NOTE - I AM NOT a affiliate advertiser of any of these sites and I AM NOT promoting any of them over another. They are just sites I have used in the past and I thought it would be a good idea to post them here for every one to check out. If you have any template sites you like please post them here so I can take a look at. Here is my list of template sites: Frontpage templates, Dreamweaver templates, Website templates, Ecommerce templates, Golive and CSS. Quality FrontPage Templates and Dynamic Web Templates (DWT) for Microsoft FrontPage from FrontPage Templates dot com Frontpage templates for Microsoft FrontPage 2000 and 2002. Specailly designed for business use. Hoover Web Templates Dreamweaver Front Page Web Site Design Templates

Good list, thank you for adding it in here. Although I don't use templates anymore for 4 years already, there are still people who need them. I don't advise anyone to use them per se, but to download them and look and try to understand HOW they function. I am for uniqueness in design and that's what I tried to achieve all these years. I still have a collection of templates on my PC and from time to time I watch them and try to see what makes some beautiful, what breaks others and so on ...

I agree 100%. If you are going to use any of the templates on those sites I listed you should change literally every single color and add additional links and features. I would recommend never using a template "as is" and always customizing it to make it unique. I also agree 100% that a big part of the value of templates is looking at how the maker created them and then actually trying to learn and use this new knowledge for future sites you create. OWD and OSWD are 2 of the best resources on the net for designers!
