Agreed. I'd say set a rate based on the finished product instead of hours. How are you going to prove how long you worked on the website anyway?

Yea, when trying to get a project done you should give a full price instead of charging per hour. Plus it will get done faster.

Set a deadline and a cost. The programmer will factor in his own time and how long he feels the project will take. If you do it that way you will catch more experienced programmers eyes. They will be like, I just did something similar to that, this will be easy (and they already know how much they will make, and cant rip you off).

Completely agree - I would perhaps advertise per hour, but would never charge by the hour I prefer to deal by the project.

I do not trust people online I'm afraid - how can you judge how much work is an "hours worth"?

I know this is ironic as I occasionaly advertise by the hour, but I prefer to deal on a per project price

I'm seeing more people charge by the job these days, but some expensive designers charge $50 an hour or more, if they're really good. Even at that expensive rate, people are still buying, and in large quantities!

Holy crap $100 per hour! That is a lot of money, I mean, wow. I wouldn't pay $100 for a job, so for an hour? You must have the big bucks (well, if you do a good job, that's actually a reasonable rate).
