I am making a business that requires programming like C++ or some other language built into the website and I don't know where to start. I also don't know what programming language to use either. Haha, I don't even know if what I aspire to do is even obtain able. Let my digress...
Hypitheticaly speaking;
My website will be for music based users and will usually feature bands and support bands. Lets say...perhaps I want to integrate recording software in to my website. What language would be best. I know what features it will first have for a beta. The features could/would include:Would I be able to do something like that and What scripting language and programming language would I use?
- Track recording(by instrument; Guitar,Vocals,Bass, etc)
- Editing tracks(cut,copy,paste, etc)
- compiling the tracks(putting all tracks together)
- Adding basic SFX
- Volume control
- MP3 or MP4 Output
(please if you need anymore information ask! I will gladly provide more input and detail. THANK YOU!)

You could use PHP with FFMPeg and other audio libraries. I'm sure Ruby offers something similar.
Just my take, but it seems like you want to do things that are not really handled well through a website. This sort of thing tends to require a decent amount of processing power, and is better done on the local machine, not your server.
If you have to do it as a website, it just screams for Flash or Java, to me. I think you need to clarify what you are trying to accomplish, though. Is your goal to create a track mixer, or a web site? What are you trying to accomplish?
Thats the thing. I want it to be both. The reason I can here is to learn if it can be done and from the sounds of it it can't.
I guess I could do a website with all of the recording software in a ftp directory so when the user uses a program I that I "developed" the user should select their hardware then Press continue button then the application could Download and install the software and all that other good stuff. BUT I would prefer this all built into the website because then what is the point of my website? Its just like guitar center with all the products software hosted on their web-space.
Thanks for the input,
Kaleb
