I dont know if this is the right forum.. but Why do some websites that use Browser Detection see my Mozilla Firefox as Netscape 5.0? do they use the same engine?

Wasn't Mozilla owned by Netscape one time?

Hmm I dont know.. but still why would they detect it as Netscape 5.0?

I think so,
I have seen it I think and Mozilla is a lot better and different than Netscape now, maybe Mozilla is made based on Netscape browser and maybe I am wrong and maybe I am right.

well i downloaded Netscape but after less than one week I un-installed it its too buggy! it used to exit from the window from time to time, sometimes it wouldn't load the website, well its too buggy! I like Mozilla, and I installed Opera for my Dad, its good too!

Yes, I hate Netscape too. And prefer Firefox.
But when using 2 Gmail accounts ect. I use the IE tab in Firefox.
