Animating with VB

How do you animate with VB? I've heard that it's kind of like with Photoshop, where you made a lot of images and then show them and hide them with each frame (although I think it's kind of different with VB). Am I right, or is it a different way.

I haven't done it myself, but it looks like System.Drawing.ImageAnimator will do an animated GIF for you.
