    Post Developing SMS Software

    HI THERE,

I really need a help. I am a programmer. I'm using one of the module in the .NET to design and develop reports.

Recently I have a new project. My Boss want me to write a short message service (sms) system. I do have some idea on it. But I am not sure on it.

What I understand is, this system, I can divide to front-end and back-end. Back-end mean the gateway part. As I understand, nowadays for the gateway part, when we buy the gsm modem, the gateway will be in a box. And, the front end, I should design the screen and database. My problem now is, I do not know what parameter should I do have in my front end system, so that I can integrate with the gateway. So that, my system able to send sms, receive sms and doing broadcasting.

I really hope, from here, I can get some one to share with me and tell me, what is the module I should have in order for me to have a sms system, and how can I integrate the front end and back end,

Thank you very much. I do appreciate any information on the related. Thanks.

It would be glad if you would like to email me on the opinion and information. My email is yinyin.chua@gmail.com

    Thanks.

    regards,
    yinyin

Your BOX should come with some sort of SDK. I found one here: Visual Basic SMS SDK

You may want to inquire with the vendor of this SMS box.

    Hi,

You might want to consider using Skype for your SMS needs.

The Skype API is fairly straight forward and you can use it to send SMS messages from Skype to any mobile phone. Then you just pay for the SMS messages sent out (THe price is pretty good as well)

I have this setup myself on my ubuntu, but you can do it easily enough on Windows as well.

    Hope this helps !
