PS3 help needed.

Hi guys, haven't posted in a while, but anyway...

I'm having problems with my PS3. When I load a disc, it says "loading", then "loading complete" but doesn't actually start the game. Going to the game and opening it manually doesn't work either, neither does Blu-ray or DVD discs.

I can't think what to do and I'd rather not restart the whole system and lose the data. I'm suspicious that it may be something to do with updating the system when loading a new game. Can anyone help me?

You might have to restart, it's probably some kind of system issue. I thought you could save any data, what's wrong with doing that?

Also, who's this "Xav" I keep hearing about? O_o

Is the disc scratched? Clean it off, run water over it and polish it with a cotton clothe.

What PS3 firmware are you on ?

It should be 3.0 and upwards

I'm surprised you haven't seen his old posts when browsing the forums. As I understand it, he was a lot like Vswe is now. He has a godlike amount of posts, and was once hailed for having the highest reputation. (he still has the highest rep power). I guess he sort of disappeared all of the sudden, which is very strange. If he ever returned to CodeCall, he could probably very easily make it to Code Master. If you want to see his user profile, it's right here.
