#669718 Codecall IRC?

Posted by An Alien on 02 April 2014 - 05:21 PM

For me, the reason is sites like Stackoverflow which have answers to just about everything. Although I like to use multiple sources and so I do click on links to forums related to my search query, but usually sites like SO already have a good enough answer. And because of the traffic, you can get answers extremely fast on SO compared to forums so it's perfect for people who don't care about being in a community/forum environment. Maybe sites like SO are spoiling us for near instant answers. Who has time to make friends/relationships when you can find the answer right away, right?

#669667 Codecall IRC?

I feel like competitions (like the one we are having soon) are good for bonding the community. Me and Kadence (over Skype) were discussing of another activity: pair programming, by having members from CC pair up with another member and work on fun little projects together using collaboration tools (there are many free ones).

This could really benefit people and increase their skill and knowledge. And they did it through a community event so they should feel a greater desire to stick around and do the same with others.

#597311 Getty Images Copyright Issue

Please read/skim this How to avoid legal demands and trouble with Getty Images
The real cost of being sued by Getty | Copyright Action

to understand the horrible situation I'm in. It's the one where I used a 3rd party developer all the way in India to make my site and now Getty Images is demanding extremely large amount money for a couple of pictures which I never knew were there's.
