Has adblock gone completely crazy or stupid..?

24 August 2013 - 04:54 AM

So I got this message on my adblock and got to this page;

https://campaign.get...spread-the-word

They basically want to get rid of ads completely, does the guy actually know the consequences of this? We'd be paying for YouTube, Google, Email, Gmail, EVERYTHING. I know some ads can be annoying, but to wipe ads out completely companies will struggle to keep services free.

What's your guys take on this campaign? Good or bad?

Ubuntu Forums Hacked

23 July 2013 - 03:55 PM

Got an email today saying Ubuntu Forums has been compromised, so all usernames, emails and passwords have been taken, this has really made me angry because that password is used on a few other sites, hackers really annoy me man. This password was used on amazon now I have changed it. The username is different though. But usually I stick to one password across all forums, this has happened only a week after Bohemia have been hacked.

This is really good news, because I always wanted to develop a game for Android, my do windows first. Now we got the free resources I better get cracking :

Webmasters - Backup Tips?

22 June 2013 - 01:40 PM

This goes out to those webmasters. I would like some tips/advice on how your prepare and organize your website backups? My backups tend to go all over the place on multiple hard drives. I read this http://webdesign.tut...ultimate-guide/

and it did say backup on Multiple hard drives since hard drives do fail.

My computer is structured like this:

C: Drive contains all program files and windows installation

U: Drive contains all user data external hard drive Seagate 500GB, when I do my website work the data saves here.

X  Drive this is a 300GB internal hard drive and is actually used for game installations, however it will also be used for backups now as well.

L:Drive this is a portable (Pocket) 250GB Toshiba HDD all website backups save on this, I purchased this for the sole purpose of backups. However, this drive is not connected to the computer only when a backup needs to be performed.

Then I got like 3USB sticks ranging from 1, 4, 8GB with more website backups lol..

So any tips for preparing and organising backups?

Thanks
