GTK+ vs QT: Which is better?

15 January 2009 - 04:07 PM

Which one do you prefer of the two? Which one is better? Which one would you rather use?

I haven't seen a whole lot of applications using QT these days but QT does have a nice form editor. GTK+ seems to be more popular but I'm curious to know what a "users" perspective is.

iTunes for Linux

15 January 2009 - 03:49 PM

I need to find an alternative to iTunes for Linux. Since the application isn't made for Linux I'd like to find something similar if possible. What do you use for Linux? What options do I have?

Also, is there a way to rip songs from your iPod using Linux? Windows has that utility iPod Share which does just this.

Changing IP address

In Windows I could set a domain to be a different IP address by adding a line to a file called hosts (in system32). Is it possible to achieve the same thing in Linux?

This seems to be a new section since I last visited. What exactly is Wine and why/how do I get it?

WoW on Linux

29 March 2008 - 08:52 AM

Can anyone tell me how these people are getting World of Warcraft to run on Linux? I was just playing (via Windows) and talking to another player that was on Linux. He left before I could get any more info out of him.

Any idea what the FPS is like? Would it be faster or slower on Linux? I'm really exited because I have to spend a lot of time in Windows because of playing this game so much.
