I'll give it a try but I just don't want my efforts to serve as great vanity acts at the end of the day.

Well, I've been to various employment agencies and they said that any jobs that require use of C and C++ would be next to impossible due to changes in technological preference. That was a major punch to the gut for me considering the fact that I've spent years trying to learn these languages in university and paying top tuition dollars for them.

Plus, there is the lingering stigma against those who had been out of work and are not recent university graduates.

I've adjusted my resume to make it more palatable to today's employers but nothing is coming out of this.
