Hey Guys,

I have recently opened a new chat room website called Mix ** Chat Room http://www.mixpakichatroom.com about 1 month ago. There have been about 2000 visits, which is pretty nice!

BUT! the issue is that people DO NOT stay, number of online users at any given time varies between 20-40. I have tried MANY different strategies to hold people on the website, still without much success.

Any clue what can be done to improve these statistics? I am very much surprised by this outcome :/

Let me know your thoughts, or write me an email at mixpakichat@gmail.com

Kind Regards,

I can see a few issues with this.

1) It's branding itself as Pakistani only. When I checked it out, my immediate thought was "not targeting me, moving on."

2) When I checked it, there didn't appear to be anyone on. My immediate thought: "No one's here, moving on."

3) Aside from targeting Pakistanis, what's the draw? For example, what can you do with this site that you can't do with Facebook? Heck, on Facebook I can meet strangers based on interests (groups), I can have private or group chats, or I can just toss something out there and see what people think.

4) You are trying to break into a saturated market. IRC has been around for decades. I've seen web interfaces for IRC for at least 5 years now. There are already numerous chat sites/technologies out there with identical functionality.

So, my first question is going to be: why should this have a larger draw? It's possible, but not something I would expect.
