Making an image and message sending application and I'm deciding over two colors on which to establish my app. It stuck between

HUIDHSU

and

HUIDHSU

I was told that they are nice colors but they're are kind-of feminine and I would reach a higher demographic of people if I were to use more neutral colors but I don't know, I like the colors. WHat do you guys think?

P.S my app name is Cake Box and I was told that because the name is already sort-of effeminate I should stick to neutral colors.

It's hard to offer any meaningful advice without knowing more. What does the app do? What will the background color for the text be? What is the target audience?

If it's a white background, I'd go with a darker color than either of them just so the higher contrast will make the text easier to read. If it'll be a different background, say purple, then I'd need to see the samples on that background color.

Cake Box makes me think of a container, not an app, so I really have no idea how that's effeminate. Then again, I have no idea what it does... maybe let you locate bakeries?

Well, it's a messaging application with a photo sending ability. Also I think you're right on the contrast comment because yes, I do plan on accompanying it with white.

This is a rough draft of the app-header;

Logo

Although I agree with contrasting it, I really like the softer colors... any ideas of how to accomplish both?

Yeah, white on pale is a contrast problem. It's hard on the eyes, and difficult to read.

I would start by developing your color scheme with one of the various online tools available. Here are a couple that may help:

https://color.adobe....Order=0,1,2,3,4

Basically, you need a combination of colors that are naturally easy on the eye.

Side note: the name Cake Box would never make me think of messaging or photo sending, but that's your call.

Adressing the side note, agreed. I'm debating replacements in my mind.

Yes, Cake Box doesn't convey the kind of app your are making.

The Logo design looks good, but the colors are eye-killers.

Maybe if the color you use it not as a background but for filling up the rectangle, and then a blue to the "ears" at the sides, then use darker color for the general background...
