iOS requires a language that compiles. That includes C, Objective-C (the default for iOS), C++, and several others.

Depending on the kind of games you are thinking about I would say your best choice is either a game engine for mobile or a framework as Phonegap.

For Android, yes. For iOS, no.
LibGDX is a fine option for Java game development on IOS.

Also have HTML5 in mind. It is able to create mobile games and it will run in any device that can run a web browser.
