I would like to write a script to automate a facebook game. I would like the script to be able to interact with any aspect of the game and carry out mind-numbingly repetitive tasks. I am unsure of the best way in which to write such a script.

Welcome aboard,
If the game is graphic, on a canvas, then the classic kind of scripts (based on HTML elements) might not work for you.
As for the numb repetitive tasks you could try making a script with AutoClick, where you can teach the software the clicking sequence, save it, and then run it.
