The pseudocode is going to be quite a bit more complicated. In general, I'd have an array of 12 ints, set them all to 3, then randomly select one to increase or decrease by 1 (at random). Then you can run through your algorithm, using sums to represent weights.

 

From there, it pretty much follows what I described. At some point, you HAVE to develop the solution on your own :)
