Does any one know how NINITE install files work?

Does any one know how ninite.com install files work?  Thank you.

Thanks...  I was more interested in how it gets the install files for the apps that it downloads...

Does ninite cache the install files on their servers, and then make installers from that?

Not really, but I can do an educated guess:

 

Most of software updates comes from checking a particular URL, then checking for a file (to be of a higher version than the last installed), and then download and execute them.

Where does it check? some software shows it when you go to its upgrade page, tab, or menu. You can also check it on the scheduled tasks of windows.

But, if you are thinking to make it yourself, you need to know there's not an universal way, and that you will have to investigate each software's way.
