Sometimes at work I feel more like an A+ Tech guy than a programmer.

No one calls me a "programmer" they call me "The Tech Guy" and whenever theres a computer issue of any sort they come drag me down the hall to take a look lol.. I fix the issue 50% of the time but I'm like.. I really should be developing the software the company hired me to... lol

Finally know what the real world of programming is like...

That's when you let your boss know that you're spending time doing IT work instead of programming. It's amazing how quickly your priorities will be clarified when that happens :)

Make sure you explain it thoroughly.  Make sure that you emphasize that the delivery date for the software  may be put in jeopardy due to these extra duties.

When management hears about deadlines not being met, that's when they act.

lol well they got a 3rd party company that handles there network but they charge $50 an hour.. BUT they also have everything on lockdown.. like if a user can't log into a computer people come bug me and I'm like.. well the way its setup now you gotta call the IT people and get the admin password.. then they look at me like "your an IT guy and you can't do this?"

lol, I'll take care of it and make it clear... thanks
