Knight Rider
Doctor Who, 1981 Version.
Airwolf
Taxi
Peter Gunn
Mission Impossible
Mannix
Starsky and Hutch (if just for the 70's style ** groove)
Night Court
Barney Miller

For me a show's TV and movie themes can make or break something -- and to be frank a lot of the twinkly tone-deaf drawn out garbage we're hearing these days is as responsible for shows failing (particularly sci-fi) as the actual content of the shows.

Look at how Star Trek just got lamer as time went by... Original theme -- rock on. Movie theme sucked, but tweak the same song a bit for TNG and rock on. Move on to the "cornet for the tone deaf" of DS9, the DIRGE used for Voyager, and the limp wristed so soft that AM radio stars from the 80's would kick it's arse for being so lame that was Enterprise... and you see the slow deterioration of the music that follows the deterioration of the franchise.

Good theme will make me tune in every week just for the theme, bad theme and I probably won't even watch the show.

Of course, I like anything by either Henry Mancini or Lalo Schifrin.

The only thing about Dreamweaver that can be considered professional grade tools are the people promoting it's use.

How about the greatest TV theme song actually sang by members of the cast? All in the family. I also thought of the Brady Bunch, but they didn't sing it. Oh well.

Even better when most people have no clue what a LaSalle is... how they had to have Jean annunciate it for the second season and even then most people were lost as to what "Gee our old LaSalle ran great" even meant. Guess that would be like saying "Gee our old AMC ran great" today. :D
