Hello Codecall peeps, Adam Schmidt here!  Up until a couple weeks ago, I knew absolutely nothing about programming.  I decided to tackle C++ as my first language (I know, I know) and have been having a blast with the challenge thus far.  After I realized how much of a struggle it was to teach myself programming, I decided it would be a fun idea to create a website dedicated to sharing my experience with all of the other beginning programmers out there, so I did just that with codingnewbie.com.  I have high hopes that the community formed through the site will motivate all my fellow programming newbies keep the motivation they need to continue on with their studies.

But anyway, enough of that.  I'm looking forward to getting you know you guys through the many questions I'm sure I'll be asking here.  Good luck everyone! :thumbup1:

Welcome aboard Adam,

Happy learning! I'm curious, what did you learn about  c++ in a week? :D

Feel free to ask away your questions, and fear not, everybody was a newbie once

Thank you all for the warm welcome! To respond to your question BlackRabbit, I have learned printing text, variables, if statements, functions, basic parameters, classes, and while loops...I'm sure I'm forgetting a thing or two, but that's the majority of it all. Nothing impressive, but fun nonetheless! ;)

C++ was my fifth language, after QuickBasic and TurboPascal around 1990, Fortran in 1993 (promptly forgotten), and C in 2003(ish).

C++ is not a bad first language if you've got a knack for coding.
