Hello there CodeCall community ,
I am currently having a issue with the installation of Ubuntu . Im running it on Oracle VM VirtualBox and from there I am trying to install it . But once I get to the installation process - a few steps in - it then proceeds to tells me that " This computer currently has no detected operating systems .. " . And I know for a fact I have a Windows 7 OS and in addition to that I don't want to erase the disk . So where do I go from here ? For the record I am completely new to Installing another OS , and new to Linux at that .

Where are you installing it from?
I'm just trying to get this clear. Are you running it from the VM when it gave you that message? If so, then it's fine. There is no OS installed on the VM. It is referring to your VM and not the host machine.
