It seems on average that the loading time of each page is between 1~3 seconds. Is this normal for everyone else too?

Sounds pretty typical for me.

Wow, that's especially not too good for you WP. If you go through an average of 60 pages a day, that's about 60~180 seconds of total waiting. Bleh :D

I'm guessing the slow loading times are due to the extra site mods...

I tend to go to the View New Content page, then open up interesting categories in new tabs. From there, I open interesting pages in new tabs and mark the rest as read. Then I read pages of interest. Lather-Rinse-Repeat.

Most of this happens in the background while I'm reading something, so they don't really inconvenience me, though I'm sure they don't help the server any.

Perhaps that's why I'm getting slow loading times... I'm sure all threads are interesting to you so you open up about 60 tabs at a time. :)

I'll have to do the same I suppose. I'm more of a hit-and-run type of user when it comes to browsing threads but now I'll have to change my ways...

I think some of it is due to the various links and info displays on the right. Some are static links, but I think the Users Online regularly polls new data, for example.

When Roger is back we'll look into whether they're all needed, and if it's feasible to allow regular members to disable some of the ones they don't use.

Only about half the topics are of interest to me, but I like to at least glance at them all, in case I need to moderate something.

Are you guys finding the pages load faster today? We had to disable all the plugins because one of them crashed the server :)

Being in South Africa, the load times don't matter that much... If anything loads we jump around the fire and pray to the techno gods...

No harm was done to the world in sending this message, but a few million electrons have been SERIOUSLY inconvenienced...

I'd assume that whichever plugin was crashing the server is also what was making the page load so slow for people. While we're waiting for it to be investigated - which of the currently missing options did you regularly use, or not use?

I'm thinking the 'users online' that was on every page will be the first thing to go. Or, to not come back
