I am sorry to say that but the previous layout and design of the website was so much better. The current one is just ugly and unintuitive! Hope that's going to change in the near future.

Thanks

I don't really have any problems with it. Can you point out specific examples and suggestions for making it better? "Sucks", "ugly", and "unintuitive" are somewhat vague and subjective words, and don't really convey any meaningful criticisms.

Well firstly the old colour scheme made things more clearly visible and distinguishable. Secondly, I don't like the sidebar on the right hand side - it takes too much space and its not very useful.

Lastly, there is this big grey line on top of the page that's completely useless its not much of a problem but it is still annoying.

Btw nice quote gregwarner

Bar on top: There's an ad in there, your adblock just ain't good enough to remove the div as well.
Sidebar: Profile settings > Board face > disable it

myea.. colors, I made my own chrome extension to change a bunch of the colors - I also got rid of the div on top :D

Thanks. :)

Be sure to share these with Roger when he gets back. He's been asking around for feedback.

I believe you can change some of the colors yourself. The paintbrush icon on the right toward the top does this. That may help.

just make these 2 files in a separate folder:

file: content.js
document.body.removeChild(document.body.children[0]) //get rid of ad div 1 on top
document.body.removeChild(document.body.children[0]) //get rid of ad div 2 on top

var topBar = document.getElementById('header_bar');
topBar.id = "different"; //We don't want css associated with current ID
topBar.className += ' header'; //This will make it adapt with the color chooser
topBar.style.background = 'url(http://forum.codecall.net/public/style_images/tctc91_unlimited/_custom/trans_d_60.png)'; //copy background from the navigation bar
topBar.style.backgroundColor = document.defaultView.getComputedStyle(document.getElementById("primary_nav"),null).getPropertyValue('background-color');//copy background from the navigation bar

document.getElementById('content').style.backgroundColor = '#DEEED0'; //I don't like the main page to have a pure-white background.

var submenus = document.getElementsByClassName("submenu_li");
for(var i=0 ; i<submenus.length ; i++){
  submenus[i].firstChild.style.backgroundColor = '#233116';
  submenus[i].firstChild.style.color = '#DDDDDD';
  submenus[i].firstChild.onmouseover = mouseOver;
  submenus[i].firstChild.onmouseout = mouseOut;
}

function mouseOver(){
  this.style.color = '#FFFFFF';
}

function mouseOut(){
  this.style.color = '#DDDDDD';
}

manifest.json
{
  "name": "Codecall enhancer",
  "version": "0.1",
  "manifest_version": 2,
  "description": "Enhances codecall style",
  "content_scripts": [
    {
      "matches": ["*://forum.codecall.net/*"],
      "js": ["content.js"]
    }
  ]
}

Then just on the extension page click on "load unpacked extension", browse to the folder, and you're done.
If you change some colors in the javascript file, just press reload on the extension page should be sufficient.
  • Should make the top, black, bar get the same color as the menubar.
  • Makes this bar also adapt with the colorchanger
  • makes the white background of the page "less-white". Slightly greenish as that suited my chosen color.
    Change "'#DEEED0'" to fit with your own color
  • Also changes the colors of the menus on top, as those don't change with the colorchooser.
    Change "#233116" to fit with your own color.
    The #DDDDDD is the color in the menus without a mouse over it. #FFFFFF is the color with the mouse over it. Change as needed.

I think it's only temporary due to all plugins being disabled following a server crash last night.
