Please any one help me on visual svn brancing and merging , a web site link on how to do that in a safe way in
Visual Tool is better , or may be a helpful video is better too ,

I have a client project where new Features are need to added in the near future and until it is tested and released to the client the existing project SUPPORT is also need to be given

So thinking of get the branch from the existing project and develop the new features and mean time the old project can be used for existing support : this is my idea.

NB. I found this

also but I need some expert who has already done this to get some positive and negative effects happened to them as well

you can just right click on SVN and sleect branch ... Basically Branch out meaning it will copy exactly what you have right now ... and leave it there ... for example ... If you're working with version 1.0 and now you want to keep that version ... so we branch it out ... your developer continues to work and update to the trunk.

If let says there is a bug on version 1.0 ... so your developer get source from branch v1.0 modify the code ... then you merge them to the trunk.

hope this helps
