I am currently working on a project in which I need to create directshow filters for a custom file type. I have this site that i have been using to teach myself how it works. This is the first task I have attempted which dealt with media files (besides web site creation) and have little knowledge of how Directshow works.

If anyone has any knowledge of Directshow they could share it would be greatly appreciated. I know its a very open ended question but I don't know enough about how media files work to ask any specifics.

And if anyone has sample code for a filter or graph manager it would help a lot. I much prefer looking at sample code and debugging it to reading documentation.
