Guys, I am supposed to create a online examination system such that 50 participants sit on 50 computers and one admin can monitor everything on one server, like who is leading and who is lagging etc.

Can someone give me a start as to which languages would be the best. I am said that php, js and ajax will be the languages.

Thank you!

you can use ASP alternate of PHP but I prefer PHP,Jquery (AJAX)
with those things, you can create the system that you want to make.. You might also want to study
mysql for the database of the system that you are planning to create

Great, Almost there.

I am pretty much new to all of them (i just know C/C++) so is it necessary for me to do a good deal of html before touching PHP?? And can you recommend me in which order should i learn the languages, I mean html>ajax>php>sql??

I have 12 days, and got to do a lot. Well i am also preparing a Question-Answer-Making Tool so that the user can add questions and answers in a text file, and then i can use them with PHP/AJAX!! I will use C++ and WxWidgets for that.

Being in your situation, I would choose PHP+AJAX, too. Actually, you will need HTML, as you wonder. I don't want to be pesimistic, but it's really a big deal to learn so much in 12 days. Anyway, good luck!

Yes it is, but i wont be needing mysql as it will be held on a client-server basic, computers which are in a Local-Area-Network Connection!!
That does take a small amount of work away. Still a mountain to climb!!
