This may seem like a noob question, but I am a huge computer noob so I would like to know. Batch files seem like they would be cool to write, as they are very useful.

Thanks

Batch files are written in shell's language, that is why you call shell-scripting to the batch coding,
shell languages are a combination of shell scripting propietary languaje ( as in flow control structures, variables, etc ) and shell commands, as the ones we all know for copying/moving/renaming files, etc.

i say shell cause every operating system has its own shell, and in unix case (AKA linux nowadays) there is even different shells ... but since i see you are learning .NET i will assume you are talking about .BAT files, that ones uses DOS shell, so here is a tutorial for DOS Shell script .bat file for hello world (click)

So buddy, any batch in particular you are looking forward to code ?

thank you!

nothing in particular, I just think it's cool how you can write programs that will do things like shut down your computer and things like that.

I lalalalove batch scripting!

I use the command line a lot to connect to my Android with ADB (android de-bugging) and batch files are perfect for automating procedures!
