Which Of Programming Language Learn First, Vb6 Or C++

Well........ VB5 was my first programming language and look how I turned out :D........ but I agree with the general consensus, C++ is the way to go.

C++ is not gentle on beginners, but that can be both good and bad. There are many important concepts that you can learn with C++ that you will not learn nearly as quickly with languages like VB or Java. What is most important is the instruction. I've seen two people teach the exact same programming course: one cuts out hard things, and everyone gets a great grade, the other pushes students to learn, and some get not-as-good grades. Then the following course shows who actually learned more.

Actually you shouldn't learn a language first, you should learn programming first. At least algorithms and data structures. Try Algorithms + Data Structures.pdf

Then learn modern languages (VB.net, C#, etc., depending on what kind of programming you want to do. (For instance, if you want to do web programming, learn Javascript and PHP.)
