i want to make a battle system that someone can open a room, and another guy can join it, and one time 1st guy attacks, and then 2nd guy attacks, each one
of them has hp(life) bar that autoaticly rand gets down each time they attack each other, and also mana, get down each turn.
i want everything to happen without refresh , is ajax the best way?
thanks

Ajax is pretty much THE way to do that, if it will be purely browser based. There's also Java Applets, Flash, and some other technologies.

I asked my coworker and he said that node.js might work (http://nodejs.org/), depending on your specifics.

If you only need a text based browser game with some updating pics... ajax is probably the easiest way to go.

jQuery is a JavaScript library that helps with a lot of things, including making AJAX calls.

That depends entirely on your current skill level with programming in general, and JavaScript in particular. jQuery documentation is where I would start, along with various tutorials.

Yes learn JQuery or at least another framework. Managing JavaScript code across browsers will make you loose sleep (lots of sleep).
