Good Evening Forum,

i don't know if something exists as such but if it does i don't know what its called. I have search. I would like something that can search documents, word docs, XL, PDFs, and text for a certain set of parameters. Its to search CVs for certain data such as dates, company names and skills. As far as i can see, Company names and dates are usually laid out in a certain way. Skills, a list can be supplied, and the search would need to search a certain part of the CV where the company name and dates and found, and skills keywords to be searched within that area.

i can go into more detail if needed. Any ideas? comments?

Thanks

Andi

There are commercial programs for doing this. Ultimately, each document type needs to be opened using appropriate techniques, the text extracted, and then you can search.

I don't, but large companies use them to filter out electronically submitted CV. It would be advertised to HR departments.
