I have a website that im planning to host in a godaddy/hostgator server. I want to display the LIVE video coming from my local cable tv in this site.

BBC - BBC Two - Watch Live
Kerala Chief Minister

What all would i be needing to accomplish this Live streaming?

My doubts are:
1. How do i send this live stream from my local pc to web hosting server?
2. What kind of software/player should i install in the web hosting server that buy?
3. What kind of hosting server plan(dedicated/shared) should i buy to host this live streaming site?

You are not allowed to broadcast your incoming cable tv.

I'm a System developer at XLENT Consultant Group mainly working with SugarCRM.
Please DO NOT send mail or PM to me with programming questions, post them in the appropriate forum instead, where I and others can answer you.

You can accomplish live streaming using Ustream, but as Orjan pointed out it is illegal to do so. If you broadcast a TV or radio station, you'll need a license. Otherwise the TV stations can and will sue you, and that is going to cost you (with many viewers this can go all the way up in the millions of dollars).
