I am interesting in creating an application that runs stand alone (outside of a browser or even in its own browser window)

What I want it to do is display the shoutbox from a v-bulletin forum, but in a seperate third party program.

for example, rather than opening a web browser, surfing through the forum and getting to its shoutbox (vb4.x.x), you could just click on this "app" and it would allow you to login and go directly to said sites shoutbox.

how hard would this be and could somebody give me some instruction on coding it?
