Just dropping everyone a line to say hi.
I'm 24 and started programming two days ago. First language I've picked is Java as it seems like a decent middle ground to begin on.
First impressions: this is HARD.
Anyway, I apologise in advance for the numerous questions I'll be asking all of you.
Happy to be hear,
Dev.

Welcome to our community! Java is a nice language to pick up after having waded through procedural programming for quite some time. You probably will be able to create applications faster however even if it seems hard.
It is a heavily class based language, you may want to learn object oriented programming (classes, inheritance for starters) to get a good idea of why everything is made that way and how it improves the flow of code.

Welcome aboard! It can be hard, but can also be very rewarding.

Cheers guys. Starting to get object oriented programming a bit I think now. I think at first the idea of not only defining everything but also defining individual components (if you want them to do something) was a really foreign concept. I'm still struggling to learn all of the syntax but we'll get there =).

Welcome to codecall!
Perfection of means and confusion of ends seem to characterize our age. Albert Einstein
