Hey guys,

I'm actually a third year CS student from the UK who has managed to get through much of my degree without taking too big an interest in programming, but some of my more recent classes have really taken my interest and I've decided I might enjoy "making stuff" as a hobby.

I'm 21 years old and currently work part-time for HP while studying full-time for my degree, next year will be the start of my individual Honours project and I think I'd love to make some form of iPhone app or game for that. As such, I've started off by working through K&R C with a mind to move on to learning iPhone development/Objective-C. Really enjoying C right now as we have just finished a C/assembly coursework in the course, which really inspired this interest in programming.

I have covered a fair bit of Java and have worked with concurrency in an academic environment, but have never really created anything worthwhile in Java - so might have a look further into this as well.

Anyway, looking forward to becoming a regular poster here!
