How do I use my domain to use webpages hosted at an external FTP server rather than the one provided by my Domain.
Eg: If i buyed domain from BigRock.in and purchased FTP to host files from GoDaddy, how do i do redirect my domain to use the index.html from GoDaddy's FTP
How do I use my domain to use webpages hosted at an external FTP server ?

Hello rakz,
I believe you mean you have a normal HTTP hosting by GoDaddy, and are using an FTP (file transfer protocol) server to upload documents to it. A website on an FTP server will act as files, and will really only work with text or HTML and often break - so I assume the former.
If you buy a domain from a reseller or registry service (BigRock.in I assume here), it will give you the option to point your domain (xyz.com) to authoritative nameservers. An example is this:
BigRock.in's control panel has set up the domain to point to ns1.godaddy.com and ns2.godaddy.com (you will have to check GoDaddy's documentation for these)
GoDaddy is informed, either when purchasing through an option (existing domain option), or through help desk that your domain is xyz.com so that it will accept it.
Then, Your website xyz.com, will now allow the user to query ns1.godaddy.com to find where your GoDaddy hosting is located.*
If I have misunderstood, always feel free to correct me!
Alexander.
* Note: DNS changes may take anywhere from 12-48+ hours to refresh, so even though the domain is set up properly you may not be able to view it until the DNS caching expires.
