Now introducing Michael.

Hey everyone. Nice to see all y'all.
Just a little announcement to introduce myself.

I started in programming back in high school learning Basic and Pascal on the Apple IIgs (shhhh, no saying how old that makes me). After high school, and thanks to their thought of 'Do what we want and not what you want.' I got shoved into training to maintain and repair the nuclear systems on subs. It was several years later before I returned to programming and I tried to get some formal training but due to financial situations got side tracked (learning accounting instead). I have now decided that no matter what, I am going to make some money as a programmer before the world ends (hopefully it won't be next year).

I am currently self-teaching C++ and would like to go into game programming, so any guidance is appreciated.

Welcome aboard Michael, C++ can provide some neat classes to work with - and there are a lot of libraries for graphics, graphical interfaces, sound, cross platform development and what have you.

Always feel welcome to post on our board, we have a general programming area for just plain theory or unspecific questions if you have some random thoughts. :)

PS: We have a tutorials section too with plenty of C++/C goodies.

Alexander.
