Is there a way to export CharacterFX files to AVI, etc.?

Also, it would have been nice if there was a tutorial, or something, on how to use that program.

* * *

In case you want more information, I have a school project for which I need to write a plot and make a cartoon (I chose to do this). I'm trying to write my own animation software, but I decided maybe I could look around and see if there's a faster way of getting this project done. I bought Anime Studio Debut 8, but that program is 2D (ie I can't make the character turn, etc., without changing the profile). However, I don't exactly want a big, complex, hard-to-use, etc., 3D studio, either, so I don't exactly know what to do. I just thought CharacterFX is relatively simple (at least when compared to K-3D, Blender, etc.), though I don't know how to use it.

I need to at least have a plan of what I'm going to do with this project, by next week.

Thanks in advance.
RR

Sounds like a weird programming project (if that's what it is) because you'll likely end up spending way more time on the 3D modelling than writing code.
...if you want something that looks somewhat decent.

Check this old thread. Making just that "simple" CC logo took me hours (well.. for me :D)

Here are the export file types that are available in that program:
Autodesk 3DS (*.3ds)

Blitz Basic (*.b3d)

DirectX (*.x)

Quake2 Model (*.md2)

MilkShape 3D ASCII (*.txt)

Nebula Script (*.n)

WaveFront (*.obj)

I tried Google-searching about some of them (for example, "x to avi"), but I wasn't able to find anything, so far.

Those file formats - to me- look like they only contain the model. Not a scene / motion which could be turned into avi.

If there was at least a way to convert those scenes to a bitmap sequence, then I could use another program to turn that into an AVI file.

As a last chance effort(if you run out of time) you could use screen recording software and fit it to the window that plays the animation. It won't be as good but it should work.

As for animation I've never really seen anything 3D that isn't complicated to run.

For making 3D animations I sometimes use UDK. I slow down the movie 5 times then I capture a movie using a screen recording software (eg Vidshot Capturer) then I use Live Moviemaker to speed it up. If you need a good quality movie slowing down is necessary.
I wrote this ebook! Will you translate it into English for free!? PM me!

I just noticed something, the title of this thread should actually start with "CharacterFX ..." , not "CartoonFX ..." ; must have been tired when I started this thread :c-whistle: .
