Hello,

I'm having a problem with mysql installation, saying that I need to open the port 3306. The solution I've been reading is to add a port in the firewall so that it allows mysql or something like this. However I can't find any "add port" button... Can someone help me? I have windows 7 home premium.

Thanks in advance!

But I've already opened ports. But it still appeared the same. It also says that if I have re-installed mysql, the password would be the previous and tells me to "skyp" the open the wizard in the start menu, but it only appears a command line client and I don't know what do from here...

Is the MySQL service running?

I don't think so. It gives that message on the end and all I can do is to open the command line client (that I have no idea what to do with it).

If the MySQL service isn't running, you'll never be able to connect to it.

Well my problem is to connect to it... That error appears after I install mysql and when I'm configuring it, on the security part. I don't think it has ever been running, but actually I don't even know...

Look at your services list. If it's not running, you have to figure out why not. If it is running, you have to figure out why it won't connect. Determine which is the real problem.
