Hi everyone. I am working on a website which detects and interacts with surrounding bluetooth devices. But I really have no idea where to start from. Should I write a plugin for browsers ? Are there any alternatives available?
Any advice would be deeply appreciated.

Well, a website cannot interacts with surrounding bluetooth.
Like you said, you'll have to create a browser plugin (a plugin for each brower) or a software that the user will download and install.
Maybe (I say maybe) a java applet could do the tricks too...

Why do you want to do this? If a strange website asked me to install a plugin to FireFox, the first thing I would do is leave. Permanently.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO DO THIS? It's a serious question. You're goal isn't to connect to bluetooth devices, it's to do something else that happens to somehow involve bluetooth devices. What is it?
It is very likely you are thinking about your problem wrong.
