Personally, I use far more java programs (usually open source) than .NET programs. Then again, I use Linux at home, so Java gets a distinct advantage. More importantly, in the job market, both languages have strong adherents, though which is dominant tends to depend on the local market.

I say c#... only because it's the one I know more. And I decided to learn it because of how easy it's was to create form, comparing to layout in java... but if I have a console software to make, I'll probably want to make it in java

I don't know either of the languages; I do, however, have a C# book at home, which I started reading but then stopped, because of how biased the author was towards the language.

It seems like authors of Java and C# books are REALLY biased in favor of their languages. It gets funny when a Java writer talks about how great Java is while he's introducing the third set of redundant methods.

Assembly is 19th place? What?

Well at least it's on that list at all.

I am currently taking an Intro Programming class in college. Java is the required language. I've had some experience with C#. I prefer a Macintosh, so
C# probably won't get much use.
