I just got a dual boot of vista and unbuntu going. I'm a total newbie to Linux and have grown up on Windows. So I was wondering what features I should take a look at, what software to download, stuff like that

Newbie
I'm currently trying to teach myself to program. I currently go to Texas A&M(whoop!) so between that hobby, school work, and everyday use that makes up my computer usage.
