Hi all, I recently installed Linux mint 11, I don't know if its just my computer system or the OS as a whole but I have been experiencing some annoying bugs. I want to know if i can re-install mint 10 over mint 11 without loosing the files I have. If not i guess it's no problem....

thanks

It depends on how you've set up the partitions on your hard drive. If you did the default mega partition, then you'll need to back up your home folder to an external drive.

Also, a number of programs will be going backwards in versions, so configuration files and data files may not be compatible any more.

As a side note, since my wife is thinking about upgrading from 9 to 11, what kinds of bugs are you seeing?

The indicator applet doesn't launch properly on startup, this affects all my applications and some of administration tools don't work . Like I said, it might just be my computer. Thanks for the help

Hi, I have just discovered that the bugs might have been in a certain appearance theme, I changed my theme and now I'm not seeing the bugs anymore, its been 4 days and all is good. I will post if bugs surface again
