As we all know Apple has owned the PMP(Personal Media Player)market for the last few years now, with eh iPod, iPod Touch, and Nano version. But what if the up and rising Android created a PMP? Would you buy it? Could it over take the iPod? The Microsoft Zune was supposed to rival the iPod, but that was just about a complete disaster, no apps, no camera, less songs, and pretty much left to die by Microsoft. Google on the other hand has the open source Android, which is not only seen as better than the iPhone 4G, but is considerably less costly to own. The statistic show the Android OS phones are doing well, they have already bypassed Apple in market share.

That's two things going for Android, cheaper to own, and more users. But now the closer:
Google Buying Handset Maker Motorola Mobility For $12.5 Billion
Not only do they have a cheaper and more popular OS, they now have the resources to build there own phones/PMPs.
With all this criteria, what do you think? Could Android create a PMP that could rival the iPod? I do personally think its possible, if they created a PMP with the right features and the right price.
EDIT: If a mod sees this, can I get a title change to, "Could Android Be The Next Big PMP?".
Thanks ~
