I'm sort of stunned that you would find (LAMP) which is the M in MySQL hard to install? As per the previous poster. Please state your operating system. If you are using a debian based linux (e.g. the ubuntu family) I held a classroom session on the installation a while back, the link to it is at http://forum.phillw....c.php?f=5&t=119 I will subscribe to this thread and will be happy to discuss any problems you are having to help make that tutorial better. I'd make the link tidier, but as CC does not use the standard Vbulletin tags that I am used to on the the Ubuntu forums it appears in all its ugliness!

Regards,

Phill.

"I am new to MySQL" ":( MSSQL is a lot easy than mysql" At least try both before saying that until then its "I am more experienced in MSSQL".

I am surprised by this, even on a command line only server MySQL was easier than eating pie. Can you explain in more detail (is the installation confusing you or is it fine until you test it to find it does not work).
Please, write clearly with proper structure. Double spacing makes the text feel un-jointed, Capitalizing Every Word Means People Stop Before Every Word Sub-Consciously Which Is A Pain In The Backside, and use code tags! (The right most styling box).

Follow WingedPanther guide to install mysql, and once it's installed, install Mysql Administrator and Mysql Query tool from MySQL :: MySQL GUI Tools Bundle: Archived Downloads
And you'll see, mysql is as easy as mssql

XAMPP and WAMP are also easy tools to get MySQL installed quickly. Without any details about what you're doing, what steps you've taken, or what errors you're getting, it's really hard for us to help you, though.

I used to complain about Oracle being "hard" for a long time. I finally got used to it, and realized that it wasn't that bad. MSSQL is nice, until you want to start doing things that violate the MS mindset of how to use computers. It's heavily GUI based, instead of being heavily command based, like most other DBs. You'll get used to the new way of thinking, with time.

Wamp = Windows Apache Mysql Php
Lamp = Linux Apache Mysql Php

So if you have an wamp installed, you have mysql installed.
