Hi, I'm farely new to programming with a small amount of experience w/ Java. Learning Java can be frustrating
though as books tell me what to do but don't explain what exactly the code is doing. Can anyone recommend a book which teaches not only Java but the fundamentals of Programming in general as well? Also it doesn't have to be a book if anyone has any better ideas on how to improve my Programming skills I'm all ears. Thanks

You could always take a look in the Tutorials section of this forums... Lots of tutorials for beginner or expert.
It's free and you can always ask questions about the tutorial!

I can recommend Deitels Java, How To Program.
Takes up everything in detail, while teaching the difference between good and bad programming techniques.
