What can the programming language Python be used for? Can it be used to program video games? Also is there a need for this language in the commercial market? I want to be able to use any skills I learn to make money.

Thanks

Video games, I'd say no. Definitely not ones that require high performance. As far as commercial applications, there are tons. A lot of web server software uses it nowadays for server-side scripting; there's definitely money to be made there.
