I was hoping that everyone could write down a list of websites that offer free/discounted technology and tech competitions for students. I know of a few.

Microsoft DreamSpark- Offers free certification in Microsoft related things, free MS Software including Visual Studio Pro

GiutHub- Offers private repositories with up to 300MB of storage if you apply as student. Version Control System.

Gild- Offers coding competitions for people 18 and over

YoungICTExplorers- Young ICT Explorers is a not-for-profit competition, which has been created by SAP to encourage school students in Queensland to create their best Information and Communication Technology (ICT) related projects. Established in 2010, the unique competition is the first of its kind in Queensland by offering fully sponsored transport for students & teachers from remote areas, to attend the judging event in Brisbane. Me (liamzebedee) and Hunter100 entered in this this year with my website Cryptum and we are in the final round of judging.

W3Schools- Offers amazing web tutorials on popular web programming languages. Certification at paid price

JourneyEd.com - Academic Software Discounts! - offers huge discounts to students. I used it quite a bit during my stay at uni.
